‘연’이라는 단어는 심오한 이중적 본질을 지니고 있습니다. 이는 차가운 겨울 공기를 가르며 날아오르는 ‘연(鳶)’을 뜻하는 동시에, 이 땅 위의 영혼들을 결속시키는 숙명적이고 업작인 유대, 즉 ‘인연(인연)’의 핵심 근간이 되기도 합니다.

In the Korean language, the word “연” (Yeon) holds a profound dual essence: it designates a kite soaring through the cold winter air, whilst simultaneously serving as the sacred root for “인연” (In-yeon)—the destiny and karmic connections that bind souls together on earth.

이번 공연은 2026 포르투 피아노페스트(Porto Pianofest) 상주 아티스트인 피아니스트 스탠리 웡(Stanley Wong, 홍콩)과 클래식 음악계가 주목하는 한국의 첼리스트 박이준(Yijoon Park), 그리고 음악계의 많은 주목을 받으며 국내 유수의 콩쿠르를 석권한 바이올리니스트 김현정(Hyeonjung Kim)이 함께하며, 피아노 독주와 실내악의 빛과 그림자, 그리고 선율이 어우러진 극치의 '키아로스쿠로(Chiaroscuro, 명암대비)'를 선사합니다.
본 공연은 바흐의 《파르티타 3번 A단조 BWV 827 중 판타지아(Fantasia)》로 그 서막을 엽니다. 왼손과 오른손이 만들어내는 주동기(Motif)들이 마치 빛과 그림자처럼 서로를 뒤쫓고 팽팽하게 끌어당기는 무대를 시작으로, 엘리센다 파브레가스(Elisenda Fábregas)가 그려내는 빛과 그림자가 뒤섞인 몽환적인 신기루 《Mirage》가 펼쳐집니다.
이어 슈베르트, 브람스, 리書트가 노래한 생과 사, 빛과 어둠의 격정적인 대서사시를 거쳐, 현대 음악의 거장 양뢰(Lei Liang)의 한국 초연 신작 《초원의 연(A Kite over the Grassland)》까지 더해져, 소리와 선율이 만들어내는 빛과 그림자의 여정으로 여러분을 안내합니다.
The program opens with the Fantasia from Bach’s Partita No. 3 in A minor, BWV 827, where the principal motifs in the left and right hands chase and pull against one another like light entangled with shadow. The journey unfolds into the mesmerizing, shadow-woven illusion of Elisenda Fábregas’s Mirage, followed by a tempestuous epic of life, death, light, and darkness sung through the romantic masterworks of Schubert, Brahms, and Liszt. Concluding this sonic voyage is the Korean premiere of A Kite over the Grassland, a striking new work by contemporary master Lei Liang, guiding the audience through an unforgettable odyssey of sound and silhouette.

South Korean cellist Yijoon Park is a rising talent celebrated for his exceptional musicality and award-winning performances. He graduated from the prestigious Yewon School and is currently pursuing his undergraduate studies as a second-year student at the Korea National University of Arts (KNUA).
An accomplished soloist, Park has performed with world-class ensembles, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the KBS Symphony Orchestra, and featured as a soloist at the Yewon School Regular Concert.
He has earned widespread recognition on both national and international competition circuits, securing the 2nd Prize at the Classic Cello International Competition, the Silver Prize (Strings Department) at the KBS·KEPCO Music Competition, and the prestigious Shinhan Music Award. His early promise was highlighted by a 2nd Prize in the Strings Department (Middle School Division) at the Osaka International Music Competition, alongside first-place finishes at top-tier Korean competitions, including the Ehwa & Kyunghyang Competition, the Dong-A Junior Music Competition, and the Music Chunchu Competition.

Currently a third-year student at Seoul Arts High School, Hyeonjung Kim is an exceptional musical talent who has garnered top honors in numerous prestigious competitions. Her accolades include 2nd Prize (with no 1st Prize awarded) at the JoongAng Music Concours, 1st Prize and the Lee Jong-sook Special Award at the Ewha Kyunghyang Concours, as well as 1st Prize at the Dong-A Junior Music Concours, the Sungjung Music Competition, and the Segye Ilbo Music Competition. Demonstrating outstanding academic and musical excellence, she received the Award for Excellence in Practical Performance at Yewon School and entered Seoul Arts High School at the top of her class, where she performed at the opening ceremony. Throughout her high school tenure, she maintained the Award for Excellence in Practical Performance for all semesters and featured as a concerto soloist at the Seoul Arts High School 63rd Regular Concert.

협업 피아니스트로서의 활동도 독보적이다. 미국 캘리포니아 댄스 아츠 유스 발레단, 독일 OREND 발레 학교, 홍콩 초이에이슌 발레 학교의 초연 무대를 비롯해 피아노와 발레를 결합한 크로스오버 프로젝트에 적극적으로 참여해 왔다. 또한 2026년 몰타 국제 피아노 페스티벌, 타이베이 프린지 페스티벌, 홍콩 시티 챔버 오케스트라(CCMHK)의 ‘Dragonix 크로스오버 무대’, 홍콩 현대음악 앙상블의 ‘존 케이지 100 음악 서커스(John Cage 100 Musicircus)’ 등에 초청되어 큰 반향을 일으켰으며, 홍콩 커뮤니티 오케스트라와 바흐 건반 협주곡을 협연하기도 했다. 그의 실황 연주는 홍콩 라디오 방송국 RTHK Radio 4를 통해 송출된 바 있다.
스탠리 웡은 영국 왕립음악대학 최고위 연주자 자격증인 FRSM(Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music) 동료 회원(Fellow) 자격을 보유하고 있다. 현재 국제 콘서트 시리즈이자 예술 협업 프로젝트인 ‘모나 페스티벌(Mona Festival)’의 예술감독으로 재직 중이며, 미국 BMTG 인터내셔널 음악 콩쿠르 및 에스토니아 탈린에서 열리는 유럽 피아노&합창 올림피아드 콩쿠르의 심사위원으로 오랫동안 위촉되어 활동하고 있다.
